New for 2010 - the Giant Puppet Parade

With support from Arts Council Yorkshire, through the Grants for the Arts programme, the festival has commissioned Tony Wade from Faceless Company to make puppets on a sea theme for a giant parade on Saturday 4 September. He has already worked with all the children at St Matthew’s and Chapel Allerton Primary Schools, and there will be more workshops for families in the week before the festival.

Any children who have made puppets can carry them in the parade. You need to come to the car park behind the Methodist Hall at 2.30pm on Saturday 4th September. You will then be able to find and carry your puppet. The parade will set off at 3.30pm and should last about 30 minutes.

Anyone else, especially adults, who’s interested in carrying a puppet or helping in any way should email Alison for more information Alison
